Hi Y’all! Yesterday, I went on a little road trip and by little I mean less than two hours lol with my mom and grandma! We had such a nice day together. I wanted to do a quick little post about it incase if any of you Pittsburgh gals wanted to go on a day trip. It is such an easy drive, budget friendly and would be fun with a group of girlfriends.
First, we went to look at Tom and I’s townhome property to see what all they had done. It is so exciting to go every couple of weeks so I will definitely be making more posts about updates and all the new house things. Follow me on Instagram to keep up to date since I post a lot more on there. After we stopped by, we hopped on the highway and went to Uptown Cheapskate. This is one of my favorite second hand clothing stores! Honestly, a lot of the time, they have items still with tags on them. Everything is also very reasonably priced. They have tons of Lilly Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, Lululemon and Free People. If you’re in the area, I really recommend stopping by. Some of the things I bought were: Free People Bralette, Free People Bodysuit, Free People Two Piece Skirt Set, Princess Polly Skort, Pretty Little Things Snakeskin Biker Shorts and a Rolling Stone Crop Top.
After shopping, we went to Almost Heaven Desserts. In the summer when we are at the lake, we always stop at this bakery. They just opened one in Morgantown so it is closer to home now which makes my mom and I so happy haha! It is THAT GOOD. This one is so cute and so aesthetically pleasing, they have to make a killing. This was the second time there and they were packed again so I recommend going and not planning on eating there because of that. I love their avocado toast with everything but the bagel seasoning!
After stopping at the bakery, we were starving so we drove around to find somewhere to eat. Conveniently, right by the bakery was this restaurant on the lake called Lake House Restaurant. It was packed so we ended up waiting about a half hour. Once we were seated, I had a margarita and enjoyed the view. The lake houses that lined the lake were incredible. I ordered crab stuffed mushrooms and a side salad, my mom ordered a chicken sandwich and my grandma ordered bang bang shrimp all were very good.
After eating, we headed back home! I was so exhausted since we were gone for like six hours lol. Another cool place to stop at that was close by is Cooper’s Rock. They have a playground, bathrooms, pavilions and hiking trails. You could even get food to go at the bakery or restaurant and eat it there. It is gorgeous!
