GOODWILL DIY PROJECT

If you have been following me for a while, than you would know how much I love to craft and shop at second hand stores aka Goodwill and consignment shops. Something about getting a bargain and recreating your own art piece makes me so happy.

Over the years, I have really come to love the modern/bohemian style with neutrals and natural wood accents. Unfortunately, I only have my bedroom to decorate at the moment, but I can not wait to put things together when I have a house. Whenever that happens, lookout because I will be doing thrift flips a heck of a lot more! As for these peacock chairs, I am sure if you have Instagram, you have seen them around. They are actually pretty popular these days but they are definitely hard to find at Goodwill. I lucked out big time and was able to find four, two big and two small! As you can tell, I painted the small ones matte black. They were originally gold and pink which is clearly not my style lol! I bought the paint at Target for $2 and had everything else. It was super simple but a little time consuming. Some suggested spray paint but I was afraid of them smelling and since they were going in my room, I went with acyrlic paint.

All in all, I love how they turned out. It was a super cheap D.I.Y coming in at under $10 for everything including the chairs! If you’re looking at doing something similar, I suggest checking out places like Facebook Marketplace. They always have tons!
